Welterweights Hausen and Owens meet at MCC 35, both look to impress

In one of the featured match ups on the evenings under card, MCC newcomer Mike Owens will face off against three-time competitor, Nate Hausen in a 170 pound contest.

Hausen went 2-0 to open his career, stopping both of his opponents and displaying that he has both, powerful hands and slick submissions. He was, however, halted when he took on the ultimate underdog, Mike Graham at MCC 31. Taking some time to reflect and focus more on his development as a mixed martial artist, Hausen is ready to step back into the cage to put his skills to use against Mike Owens.

Hausen stated, “I’ve had a great training camp. We’ve got three guys getting ready for big fights in Las Vegas, so everyone is firing on all cylinders. Plus, Miguel Rios has been pushing me harder than ever. In fact, he called me after practice the other night to make sure we were still friends! But seriously, I’m very excited to get back in and get after it. I think we are going to put on an amazing fight.’

Owens, who has one fight, albeit a short one, on his resume is convinced that with his MMA skills and grappling competition experience, he will be a perfect match up for Hausen, and he looks to cap off a hard eight week training camp with a victory.

The always respectful Owens credits Hausen for being one of the toughest up and comers in the game and feels that has pushed him to excel in training. Doing two a days, often seven days a week, Owens is in the best shape of his life. Bringing his stand up game in line with his submission skills, he’s glad the wait is over.

“We’ve got a baby on the way, so things have been a little hectic in my life. I’m training a lot for this fight, so between working, training and everything else, a win would be such a great reward for all of my hard work. I’m very confident that I’ve done everything possible during this camp. Now it’s just time to get in there and execute.”
