UFC veteran Chad “The Grinder” Reiner, who was set to face top welterweight contender, Andy “Danger Zone” Branson, was forced to withdraw from the contest due to am injury sustained in training. According to his management team, Reiner was nearing the final phase of his training camp when he injured his ribs making further training impossible.
Fortunately, a quality opponent was only one call away. Ryan Bixler, am experienced veteran who holds wins over quality opponents that include former MCC champion Teddy “Red” Worthington, will leave his training camp in San Diego, California to make the trek back to his native Iowa.
Officials from MCC reported, “Bixler, who is originally a product of Team Miletich, was excited for the opportunity. He has been already training at Alliance (San Diego) with UFC fighters Brandon Vera, Jeremy Stephens, Joe Brammer, and WEC Champion Dominck Cruz, so he is in shape and ready to go. This fight will be amazing, and we are pleased that we could find a worthy opponent who was willing to step up on short notice. The fans will definitely appreciate this match up.”
