Its hard to believe another week has already marched by! I could feel my body turn a corner from a cardio perspective. The dynamics of my week are exactly the same as last week with a few additional modifications. I added 45 min interval workouts on monday/friday afternoons. I’m lucky enough to have a beautiful baby girl who takes a nap in the afternoon!  It allows me to hit the extra cardio, sauna session and some yoga stretches for my hips.

This week was special to me in another way as well with my daughter turning 1. It was classic to see her mainly look at the cupcake that said her name and had a big 1 on it. She didn’t even really tough it all t0o much, but it was so cute!

After the party it was all about packing and getting myself ready to head to the airport in Omaha, beat the snow, and catch a flight to Denver. I’ll be landing in about 2 hours, hopping in the cab, and head straight to strength and conditioning. This afternoon I’ll finally get to my final destination at the Grudge Training Center. I have to say of all the places I’ve been, this is definately the only one run like a true team. It feels like your showing up for practice in high school or college. All of the guys posture a positive atmosphere any athlete can excel in. Mix in some hard work and its a great place to be! (can you tell how jacked up I am to get there??)

This week has also brought with it some change to the 13th of March. My original opponent Justin DeMoney pulled out. I’m not exactly sure why it makes me laugh. In a video interview Justin made the comment that his hands couldn’t get any better so he would work on his ground game in preperation for competing against me. If that’s the case maybe he’s right.. Am I the right fight for him? Someone that good should be setting up his next fight with Anderson Silva. Someone call to get it set up…. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Anyone able to make that sort of claim better come prepared on game day for a war! Then to pull out and “claim” the big show is picking him up. Oh young man I have a news flash for you. First, if you are ever truly learning you know you’ve never achieved “as good as its gonna get,” unless you physically are horrible or you’re living in dream land. Second, show some respect to the sport and your opponents you compete against cause that’s how we do it in Iowa. Lastly, when reality sets in and you realize the reason you’re really pulling out is because you’re scared, call a friend.

Ok so enough on my feelings there… I am happy to announce I will be competing against Jason Louck of Militech. He isn’t afraid to step in the cage with anyone and my hat is off to him. We will both step into the cage on the 13th ready to put on a show for the fans! From the film I’ve seen, he’ll stand in front of anyone and well that’s what I like to do, so its fixing to be fireworks in the cage. Time to get to work!

Have a great week, and hope to see you all in 19 days!
