Josh Henry (on top) vs Nick Walker

Bill Kamery (on top)
By: Randy Thomas
Yeah, I know- it’s cliche to say that, but if you’ve never watched Bill Kamery fight, you won’t understand why I said that! With the hype of a main event, often times some of the other bouts on the card do not get the attention they deserve. However, at MCC 22 “Reality Check”, the Des Moines fans will get to witness first hand, quite possibly, one of the best fights of the year when Bill Kamery makes his MCC debut against Josh “Bobby” Henry. A bantamweight fighter by nature, Kamery has agreed to come up a weight class to take on the baby-faced brawler.
With a perfect 5-0 record which includes a win over Pride and WEC veteran, Joe “The Traingular Strangular” Pearson, Kamery is ready to take his career to the next level, and that starts September 5. This hard hitting mixed martial artist, who happens to be a former Golden Gloves Champion, loves to stand in the middle of the cage and let the leather fly. Kamery trains out of Team Hard Drive & Valhalla Combat, in Cedar Rapids, with the likes of Erik Koch, and many other superior fighters. He started out out as a wrestler for 8-9 years, now he quotes, “I just like to hurt peoples feelings with my fist. I don’t know much about my opponent, but I will be looking for nothing but a knock out. I will be making a statement on Sept 5th, and looking to come back for the new bantamweight title.” Meanwhile “Bobby” is ready to take Kamery off his feet and pound him into submission or a state of unconsciousness. Josh Henry started in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 3, eventually becoming a black belt. Training MMA since the age of 14, this kid has more heart than anyone out there, and he has takedowns and ground and pound like a D-1 wrestler. Henry stated, “I know Kamery is a decent wrestler with powerful hands that I will have to watch out for, but otherwise it’ll be a back and forth battle before he makes a mistake and I come up with the win.”
